How does the Curriculum Planner work?

Curriculum Planner lays out the sequence your topics and syllabus points are taught in across the year, so your assessments land on your calendar in the right order - shown by each subject's status (Not set up, Draft, or Configured).

Setting your plan

You can set a subject's plan three ways: accept ReviseOnline's recommended sequence (based on your state curriculum authority's suggested teaching order), edit that recommendation to match how your course is actually taught, or build your own from scratch.

Teachers and classes

When a teacher sets the plan for their class, every student in that class inherits it, and it shows as read-only on their own Curriculum Planner. Students can set their own plan at any time, but if they're part of a class and their teacher sets one, the teacher's plan takes precedence.

What a plan triggers

Once a plan is set, it automatically drives ReviseOnline's scheduled assessments - weekly Check Your Understanding tasks based on the syllabus points you've covered so far, Topic Tests, Exam Builder, Exams, and Syllabus-to-Date assessments.

Theory content only

Curriculum Planner sequences the theory (written/exam-assessable) syllabus points in a course. For a subject with a practical component, such as PE Studies, only the theory topics are covered - practical work isn't part of the plan.

If no plan is set

Without a plan - whether that's on the teacher's side or the student's - ReviseOnline won't automatically deliver any scheduled assessments for that subject. You can still create your own revision manually at any time, or browse the material recommended for you elsewhere on the platform.
